Schraderhaus K9 Responds

 

Hundenhaus K9 is an ex-client spreading false information and slander about our kennel and our business. Since Hundenhaus K9 chose to post public allegations regarding this situation, below is Schraderhaus K9’s public response; The owner of HundenhausK9, Tina Cox purchased a female puppy from our kennel, in Dec 2006, for future breeding use.  She was named Raven von Schraderhaus. Ms Cox signed and agreed to abide by terms stated within the Schraderhaus breeding purchase contract.  This contract detailed a specific feeding plan the dog should be maintained on at all times.  Our contract required the pup not be allowed to become fat, but this was ignored  Following this, Ms. Cox left the puppy in the care of a boarding facility for a period of 2 months  who nearly starved the dog during her most active and greatest period of growth.    While in the care of the boarding facility the dog was fed Hills Diet Kibble, a kibble later documented as being on the list of tainted foods being recalled. Ms. Cox relayed to me via email that her animals suffered greatly from the lack of care and inadequate nutrition supplied by the animals' caregivers. Upon the boarding facility returning the dog to her care, Ms. Cox poured extra quantities of feed and nutrients into the dog, which resulted in her causing OCD of the shoulder at age 8 mos.  Our contract cautions not to overwork or allow excessive jumping, which is to be discouraged before full growth of the pup has been attained, yet the dog was allowed to jump up and down from Ms. Cox's bed on a daily basis.   Here it is intreesting to note that she cautions her own puppy buyers not to do thise very same things that she has allowed her onw young animals to do as they are growing and maturing.  Our contract required that the dog's hips be xrayed and sent to OFA for Prelim Evaluation at age 12 months.  Ms Cox did not xray the dog at 12 months of age. Our contract recommends that she then re-xray the dog at 24 months.  Ms Cox did not xray the dog at 24 months of age.  Additional xray requirements clearly state that breeding females should not have hip x rays taken  to evaluate their hips while in heat, nor 6 weeks before or after their cycles.  Ms. Cox ignored the contract she signed and had her dog Raven’s hips x rayed at age 30 months, while the dog was in FULL HEAT, following which these Hip films were never sent in to OFA for evaluation  Ms Cox claimed the hip results were poor but refused to supply Schraderhaus with the film, a requirement  of her contract or a written diagnosis supplied to us by a qualified veterinarian  familiar with taking and reading hip films for OFA evaluation. . After my repeated attempts and requests to obtain documentation of proof , Ms Cox has refused to comply and has not provided me with the proof to confirm through documentation that her complaint is legitimate, as per our contract.   If she would provide the required documents I have requested providing proof which supports her claims,  I would be willing to work toward a solution as provided for in our contract. Per the contract that Ms Cox signed, Schraderhaus also has the right to request that a second set of films be taken at a separate time which can be further evaluated by us and our veterinarian.  This request was made to Ms Cox who, as of the date May 2009, has chosen not to comply; An attorney was contacted by Schraderhaus K9, in order to demand that Ms. Cox comply with the contract provisions and supply the hip films to our facility for our review and evaluation by our veterinarian.  Ms. Cox chose to ignore these requests.  and has not complied with providing us with the copy of her films as per contract stipulations.  Further, she claims that th  To date I have been unable to ascertain whether the information Ms Cox has given me verbally is accurate. Schraderhaus is willing to work to resolve this issue with Ms Cox within the contract guidelines and would like to find a satisfactory resolution to this issue.  Should Ms. Cox be forthcoming with the hip x rays we will be able to have them evaluated and professionally examined., as per our contract Be it noted further; Schraderhaus K9 does not approve of Hundenhaus K9's breeding practices;  to breed dogs who have not had their hips xrayed by a qualified veterinarian and who have not had their hips evaluated by OFA In addition, our kennel is vehemently against their practice of breeding puppies for the purpose of obtaining an early litter, as was done in the current Hundenhaus litter, of which the sire Quinn von Hundenhaus was 9 months of age at the time of the mating. Ms Cox has violated the terms within even her own sales contract required of her puppy buyers;  which is not to use a pup under the age of 2 years for breeding This male pup has not had his hips xrayed or OFA'd, nor has the dam of this litter been OFA'd, As a breeder, our goal must be to breed to Improve the breed. As such the practice of mating a pair of dogs without knowledge as to the quality of their hips should not be done, and would not done by a breeder with the best interest of the breed at heart.
