THE
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN AWARD RECIPIENT
|
Canine Good Citizen certificate is a test that
ensures a dog can be a respected member of the
community. Made up of 10 different tests, the
dog must show good manners in a crowd, around a
strange dog, separation with a stranger handling,
basic obedience and reaction to distraction. Many
countries us CGC programs. In some communities
Police use the program for dealing with dog
problems. Therapy dog groups use it as a screening
tool. 4-H groups use it as a beginning dog training
program for children. |
