What is DVG? (Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine)
DVG is the oldest and largest Schutzhund training organization in the world. Begun in 1903, DVG was Germany's first police and service dog club and has now grown to nearly 30,000 members. While attracting breeders of all working dogs, DVG exists only for one purpose -- the training and titling dogs of all kinds. In addition to Schutzhund and advanced tracking degrees, it offers Obedience and Tracking titles I through III, providing competition opportunities for all people who love to train dogs, even the smallest of breeds.

What is LV/DVG America?
DVG is made up of fourteen geographic regions (Landesverbands), thirteen of which are in Germany with the fourteenth, LV/DVG America. A representative is sent to Germany each year to vote on Board and membership affairs. In turn the American Landesverband is divided into four local, self-governing regions (Kreisgruppen), whose presidents sit on the LV Board.

In appreciation for her determined efforts on the part of LV America members traveling with or without their dogs, the LV Board has unanimously approved designating Dana Huckestein of Lewis Travel and Cruises, Fresno, CA, as the official recommended travel agent for LV/DVG America. It was due to Dana's efforts that Darrell Pounders and his Malinois, Donna, were able to be part of the team competing in the 100th Anniversary DVG Bundessiegerprüfung in August, 2002. This is only one example of the work Dana has performed for LV America members. Because Dana is a "dog person" herself, she is familiar with all of the problems facing travelers wishing to fly with their dogs and if there's a way to do it, she'll find it.

Please contact Dana for all your travel plans, not just those with your dog.
